Right now I can’t stop listening to Gerard Ways solo album “Hesitant Alien”
He was the lead singer in the New Jersey based, modern punk band My Chemical Romance who sold gold and platina with albums like ”The Black Parade” and ”Danger Days”. They reached a massive crowd with their music, that still believes that My Chemical Romance lives on even after the band ended in 2013. When the band had ended Gerard started to work on his soloalbum and it was released in september 2014, followed by a tour that reached Stockholm, Sweden in February of 2015.
A few of my favorite songs from his album right now is “No Shows”, “Millions” and “Brother”. But you can just play the whole album from the beginning to the end and just listen. Again and again!
It’s great to have it playing in the background.
The sound on “Hesitant Alien” is compared to the band My Chemical Romance records, much more mature. Gerard's voice sounds different, but not in a bad way.
It has gotten many fine reviews over the world and the fans seems to love and support Gerard whether he’s in My Chemical Romance or solo. If you are into the modern kind of punk tones like Green Days latest trilogy, “Uno!”, “Dos!”, “Trees!” or if you like All Time Low, The Used etc. you will enjoy this album.
This album has a sort of brit-punk vibes with a hint from My Chemical Romance last album “Danger Days”. You can check out the videos to the songs “No Shows” and “Millions” on YouTube.
